Ponies, Parenting and Personal growth

Hello!

Hey everyone! Here goes—my first attempt at writing a blog post.

I suppose I should start with an introduction. I’m Siobhan, a mum of three, navigating life with a herd of ponies and a few dogs thrown into the mix. I’m writing this blog to share my journey as I get back to spending more time with my ponies and returning to my career. Over the last few years, I took a break to focus on my growing family, especially after my third baby joined us. Those early months and years with young children have been precious, but now I’m excited to shift some focus back to my personal passions and career goals.

Alongside raising my wonderful children, I’ve been working toward qualifying as an equine massage therapist—something I find incredibly rewarding. If all goes to plan, I’ll be fully qualified sometime this year! I’m already a certified riding instructor, a therapeutic riding instructor, and an equine-assisted learning coach. Animals and nature have always been at the heart of my work, and I have a deep love for helping people, too. Beyond equine massage, I’m passionate about personal development, achieving goals, and finding joy and peace—even in the midst of life’s chaos. Offering massage therapy to ponies feels like a way to give back to these amazing animals that have shaped my life and work so profoundly. I also love learning about training and developing strong, healthy ponies who are confident and curious about life.

Over the years, I’ve moved away from some of the traditional horse management and training techniques I grew up with. Now, I keep my ponies barefoot and have been incorporating more positive reinforcement methods, like clicker training and connection training. These approaches have been game-changers in how I communicate with and train my ponies, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned.

Through this blog, I hope to provide helpful hints and tips on juggling life, balancing children and animals, and building meaningful relationships with ponies. I’ll also share exercises and insights on developing physically healthy horses.

More than anything, I believe in celebrating the small wins, finding joy in each day, and recognizing progress—even in the face of challenges.I hope this blog brings motivation and support to others, while keeping things real through the ups and downs of juggling family life, studying, and bringing my ponies back into work. I’m looking forward to this journey—thanks for being here with me!
